What You’ll be Doing as a Waste Manager
Are you a leader with an eye for detail and commitment to safety? We are seeking a reliable Waste Manager to lead our Environmental Recycling Unit (ERU).
- Lead the implementation of the Permitting within the waste processing site in Birmingham and aid and support the implementation of companywide waste management
- You will lead and facilitate a team of Recycling Operatives providing the full range of activities associated with the safe processing and disposal of fire extinguishers waste electronic equipment and other recyclable materials
- Train selected Recycling operatives such that they will be able to carry out the full range of Recycling Supervisor duties
- Ensure that the team is working within Health & Safety procedures, standards and requirements. Recording turn backs and near misses and proactively discussing with the Supply Chain Quality Manager preventive action for the future
- Contribute to achieving daily and monthly production targets as part of a team
- Undertake manual handling tasks in a production environment
- Follow work instructions meticulously and complete daily job sheets
WORKING HOURS:
- Monday – Thursday: 6:00 AM – 2:15 PM
- Friday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Overtime may be required
What We Would Like You to Bring
- Excellent leadership experience
- Understanding of waste streams and waste hierarchies
- Ability to adhere strictly to all company policies and procedures
- Full compliance with Environmental Health & Safety directives (PPE, accident reporting, risk assessments, etc.)
- Commitment to completing quarterly ethics training modules
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely
