POSITION: Portable Fire Extinguisher (PFX) Product Support Senior Engineer

The main purpose of the Portable Fire Extinguisher (PFX) Product Support Senior Engineer role is to coordinate and assist with product support (training will be provided) within the Portable Fire Extinguisher (PFX) business and wider streamlines, focusing on servicing standards and data for the PFX engineers and liaising with PFX Field. This involves tasks such as conducting product audits, ensuring supplier compliance, and supporting product development and lifecycle management to maintain high-quality products and services.

SALARY:  Opportunity to earn up to £44,000 (This is dependant on your experience)  

LOCATION: UK wide with a focus on being at our Chubb National Distribution Centre twice a week which is in Birmingham B46 1DA.

What you will do

  • Portable Fire Extinguisher (PFX) Product Audits.
  • Technical Administration – product datasheets, servicing standards, price changes, new production introductions using Microsoft and JDE Platforms
  • Problem Solving / investigations
  • Statistical Process Control on KPC’s for supplied products
  • Support Sample Approvals for new product requests
  • Support product approvals – testing, pilot plans including internal Quality Review Boards
  • Ensuring Supplier maintain compliance on supplier management

How you will do it

  • Support rail management activities relating to PFX.
  • RRCA and DIVE activities with failing suppliers
  • Assist with the management of product life cycle and product roadmaps
  • Assist with the management of product to market timetables (IT JDE Communications)
  • Accurately complete the necessary documentation regarding any spec/design in accordance with the required standards and codes of practice.
  • Support activities for PFX at the distribution Centre.
  • Provide product support to the engineer community
  • Assist the commercial and operational teams in the overall development of field service tools
  • Assist Creation and publish Equipment Service Instructions; Product Spotlights; MythBusters; Product Bulletins; Essential Guides to BS (and other applicable) standards
  • Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures. Be fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures
  • Complete quarterly ethics module as advised by Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO)
