Portable Technician Trainee

About the Role

  • Based out of our Dingley, Victorian branch.
  • Primarily working in the extinguisher workshop discharging and recharging fire extinguishers.
  • The company will enroll the employee in the Certificate II Fire Protection Inspection and Testing – Portable Fire Equipment.
  • On the job training and assessment will be provided with the expectation for some home self-learning using the learning resources provided by Chubb.

Other duties will include assisting Field Portable Technicians:

  • Servicing portable fire equipment on our customer premises and recommending portable fire protection and safety systems and equipment to comply with specific Australian Standards.
  • Providing excellent Customer service and advice to our clients on site.
  • Using power tools to install and repair portable fire equipment such as extinguishers and blankets.
  • Using Field Service mobile phone application to plan and organise your schedule.  

About You

If you have a service mindset and enjoy customer interaction you can achieve the outcomes you and our company desire.

  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • A construction industry white card (or the ability to obtain one).
  • An appreciation of excellent customer service and the ability to communicate with clients on site.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work away from home when required – Remote sites.
  • Be a proactive member of the team.
