We’re looking to add an experienced Quantity Surveyor to our team here at Chubb, to work on Hinkley Point C and other projects. Based out of our Blackburn HQ this is a hybrid opportunity and a key hire for us and as such we’re looking for a QS from a M&E or Civils background.

Contract & Commercial Management
- Administration of the Main Contract(s), including supporting the preparation and maintenance of Project Control information.
- Lead on Change Management processes and support timely cash collection.
- Manage the administration and onboarding of subcontractors, ensuring all contractual agreements and due‑diligence requirements are met in line with internal governance and Client expectations.
- Ensure the subcontract strategy is executed in full alignment with the Main Contract.
- Demonstrate strong understanding and practical working knowledge of NEC3 Option C ECC Contract.
- Support the preparation, review, and negotiation of subcontract agreements where required.
Project Management Support
- Work collaboratively with the Project Manager and wider team to identify and mitigate risks through early warnings and compensation events
- Assist in the administration of Instructions, notifications, and other contractual communications.
- Support the preparation of accurate project control information to assess progress against the agreed construction programme.
- Contribute to project reporting, including commercial dashboards and performance summaries.
Project Accounting & Cost Management
- Prepare periodic Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
- Produce monthly Applications for Payment.
- Collect and validate data to support monthly AfPs.
- Prepare and monitor periodic cash flow forecasts.
- Value change in accordance with contractual mechanisms.
- Assess, prepare, and support negotiation of claims.
- Monitor budget performance against expenditure and report on variances.
Qualifications & Experience
- RICS‑accredited degree in Quantity Surveying or other relevant construction discipline.
- Working knowledge of the NEC3 suite of contracts.
- Experience using the CEMAR work management platform (preferred but not essential).
- Strong understanding of business processes with a hands‑on approach and commitment to best practice.
- Experience administering contracts in both Client and Subcontract environments.
- Proven ability to influence and manage confrontational or demanding situations professionally.
- Proficient in Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP and SUMIF.
- Experience in cost reporting, forecasting, and commercial risk management.
- Experience in quantifying works and interpreting drawings and specifications
