About the Role

We are seeking a Portables Manager based in Melbourne, responsible for our portables (eg fire extinguishers) operation across the city.  This is a fantastic opportunity for an established fire industry professional, experienced Service Manager or ambitious Supervisor to run a high achieving operation for a market leading company in the fire industry.

This position will lead a dedicated field and workshop team and ensure collaborative working with different internal and external departments.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Building strong and lasting client relationships with Key Accounts, department managers, technicians, suppliers, admin and EHS staff
  • Ensuring your team is motivated and trained to the latest and highest of standards – especially in regards to EHS, Process improvement, Standard Work to ensure field technicians' performance is operating effectively and efficiently as possible
  • Ensuring service is carried out to the highest customer service and technical standards
  • Driving strategies for business growth in conjunction with our business development and engineering teams
  • Accurate budgeting, forecasting and reporting, with P/L responsibility for the portables business
  • Maintaining a workforce that will meet customer service needs of the business

About You

  • 5 + years in the Fire industry (or similar) ideally in a supervisory or management role
  • Previous experience managing a team of field technicians and/or service professionals
  • Sales focused with an eye for new opportunities for growth
  • A team builder who can identify skills gaps and implement training programs
  • Able to accurately produce and implement budgets, forecasts and reports, sound understanding and ability to read and manage P/L
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills
